Course:

The race begins at the equestrian center and loops around the grounds before heading out to the Ma&Pa Trail toward Annie’s Playground. After turning around, runners proceed back to the equestrian center and complete a loop before coming into the finish.

Awards:

• Top 3 overall male and female runners
• Top 3 male and female runners in each of the following age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+

Amenities:

T-shirts will be given to all registered participants. Packets will include a one-day pass for admission to the farm fair ($8 value). There will be a water station on the course, and water & sports drink at the finish line. Course marshals will direct racers at all major turns.

Parking:

Race parking is accessible by entering the main equestrian center entrance on Tollgate Road. Attendants will be present to provide assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO RACE-DAY REGISTRATION for the Hammer Man Triathlon.

Course Information:

1st Run Course – Map

Runners will begin near the transition area and make a right hand turn onto park drive to complete a 1.5 mile counter-clockwise loop around the open area of the park.

Bike Course – Map

The bike route will incorporate the scenic Chase area outside of the park – the course is basically flat with a couple of short rolling climbs. There will be police presence on the course at major intersections, but all traffic signs must be obeyed! Almost all turns are right handed. The only left hand turns are at or near the dead ends of the proceeding streets.

*There should be limited traffic interference; however the course is not closed to traffic and extra caution must be taken while riding the course!

2nd Run Course – Map

The race finishes with a scenic 5k run inside the park on varying terrain including grass fields, asphalt roads, and a couple of short wooded trails.

Note: USAT policies allow us to make changes to the race based on weather or other unexpected issues that may arise. This includes changing from a triathlon to a duathlon or altering the run or bike courses. Registration fees cannot be refunded for any reason.

19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+

Amenities:

Each participant will receive a tech race t-shirt (sizes cannot be guaranteed after 9/1/12) and a logo’d swim cap that corresponds to their wave. Chip timing for each segment of the race including transitions. There will be water and HEED sports drink at the mid point of the run course, and course marshals will direct racers at all major turns. Staff will secure the transition area before, during, and after the race. Refreshments will be available post race.

Packet pickup dates and locations will be released in the weeks leading up to the race.

Due to time constraints on race day, we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE participants to pick up packets prior to race day.

Elite Race Management is proud to be the official timer of the D.O. Believe Foundation’s Second Annual “The Dominator” 10k/5k Run & Walk. Proceeds of the run will support the D.O. Believe Foundation and life saving research at the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research, located right on the campus of Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. D.O. Believe was created in memory of a local child and hero, Dominic “The Dominator” Osorio. Dominic earned his angel wings in November 2009 after battling a brain tumor. Dominic’s determination, courage and enthusiasm helped him think positive and believe that a miracle was just around the corner.

One in six men and families are affected by prostate cancer. Close to 250,000 men this year alone will be diagnosed with this disease. While we have made incredible advancements, men are still dying from prostate cancer and it needs to end. Be a champion and support the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge Baltimore by signing up to run or walk today!  With your help we can end this deadly disease that impacts so many of our loved ones.

This year, a team competition has been added for the 5k run allowing groups to compete for great prizes. In addition to individual results, teams of 2-5, 6-10, and 11+ people will compete against each other to complete the course with the fastest AVERAGE time of all team members. Course Information:

5k Course Map

The 5k course is new for 2012!  The race will begin on the track inside Johnny Unitas Stadium before exiting to run around, and through, the campus of Towson University.  Baltimore County Police will monitor all intersections, and Towson University Police will provide assistance while participants briefly pass through campus. Strollers, pets, roller skates, and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course for the 5k.

The 1 mile walk will be completely contained on the track, as participants will complete four laps of the track on the inside lanes.

The winner of the race will win the coveted Founder’s Cup, a crystal trophy created to commemorate the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. The top 3 overall males and females will win awards, as well the top 3 males & females in each age group as follows:

19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, & 60+

5k Teams

Awards will be given to members of the winning team in each size category (2-5, 6-10, and 11+).

Amenities:

Elite Race Management is proud to be the official timer of the 2012 Run For Your Lives Race Series! Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!

The race benefits the Al Cesky Scholarship Fund; a fund that awards scholarships to Harford County high school seniors who excel in both athletics and academics, and who best demonstrate the values reflected in the life of Al Cesky.

Thank you very much for your interest in the 2012 Fallston Duathlon and supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We were recently notified that local law enforcement in Harford County, MD would be unable to support the bike portion of the race due to a shortage in staff. Police participation was crucial to ensure safe road closures, and without their support, we would not be able to obtain approval from Harford County or the State Highway Administration to use the roads. While we were upset to hear this news, we attempted to keep the race alive by relocating it to Aberdeen Proving Ground. Sadly, we just got the news that the proving ground would not be able to support this year’s race either.

As with every event we host, we aim to provide a safe and enjoyable racing experience for all participants. Rather than continue to search for a suitable venue in the next month and throw together a race, we’ve decided to cancel this year’s race and focus our efforts on building a great race in 2013.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that you’ll join us at one of our other events this year. The 4th annual AMES United Methodist Church 5k Run and 2k Walk is “racing to feed the hungry daily.”  Proceeds will benefit the Harford Food Bank, and race organizers ask that each runner/walker bring at least 1 canned good to donate.
